About The FairGround

Founder Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey’s vision was to create a marketplace built on trust, transparency, and ethical standards, providing consumers with a curated selection of verified brands.

The FairGround was born out of my desire to create a marketplace that focuses on brands doing business better. These brands are all vetted through third-party assessments, so there’s a layer of trust customers can rely on. I wanted to highlight transparency—brands that are sustainable, upcycle, vegan, organic, and involved in charity work.

Coming from my background in British Vogue and journalism, I wanted to create a curated shopping platform that offers convenience, confidence, and trust—something I felt was missing in the market, where brands aren’t often vetted for their credentials.”

Challenges with the migration from Onport onto the Modern Dropship powered by Carro Platform

The main challenge was the complexity and scale of migrating to a new platform while ensuring brands could adapt easily, especially those without technical resources.

“The main challenge was the scale of the project and the fear that our brands wouldn’t adapt easily to a new system. Brands often sit at their kitchen tables without dedicated tech teams, so I was concerned about how they’d handle new integrations. 

Fortunately, because Modern Dropship’s app-based approach is Shopify-friendly and simple to use, the transition was smoother than expected. The biggest pain point was creating clear guidelines for price lists—this process was often confusing for our brands since it was unfamiliar territory.”
